One day Study Tour to “Thaidingyut Festival” in Nagoya 2017.10.8

CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE held a study tour with Door to Asylum Nagoya (nonprofit Organization) on October 8, 2017.

We went to the Thadingyut Festival of Mittadhika Pagoda built by a Burmese in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya-city.
More than 20 children and parents participated to the study tour. We took a bus to the Pagoda.

On the way, we learned current condition and history of Burma (Myanmar). After arrived, we gathered in front of the pagoda and Mr. Zin Burmese who came from Myanmar ten years ago, gave us a lecture about this festival and Myanmar. Attendees asked many questions and Mr. Zin answered those politely. We entered into the pagoda, prayed, lit candles and had service of Burmese foods for free. It was so much fun and foods were yummy!

Children who attended said,

"They are very friendly!"
"The curry taste is different!"
“Burmese respect God and any kinds of creatures much stronger than us!”
"I am surprised to know that there are many refugees in Japan!"

In this way, the cross-cultural communication was actuary developed just by the participation. Isn’t it fascinating that this superior experience can be done in your neighbor?!
